Guest guest
Hi, everyone: Just wanted to share a story about why it's so important to register your Vitamix. A couple of days ago, the blade spun off on the inside of the container when I was making a smoothie. That meant there was no seal, and the smoothie went all over the machine, down the cabinets, etc. I've never heard of this happening. So after I cleaned up the mess, I tried to use it again, and it would not run. Later, it did run but there was a funny smell, so I decided to take the machine in for a possible cleaning of the housing. At any rate, I talked with the very nice customer service rep who told me to bring in the machine. It was, of course, registered, so no problems. Luckily, I live a couple of miles or so from the Vitamix headquarters in Ohio, so I just drove there this morning. To my amazement, they replaced the motor and the container (although my husband reattached the blade and tightened it well) -- all for free because the machine was registered and it was under warrantee. It was done in about 30 minutes. Now, naturally most folks would have to ship the machine, etc., but the point is that I have practically a whole new machine. No questions asked. Most of you will never have a problem with your Vitamix, I'm sure, but just in case, it's a great idea to register it! Thanks,
