Guest guest
Tonight was On the Ball Yoga Workout for Beginners with Sara Ivanhoe. It is 48 minutes, uses a yoga mat and an exercise ball. In the beginning of the workout Sara explains how to figure out if you have the right size ball for the workout. She begins... Warm-up: Mountain pose--standing and lifting the ball above the head Down dog (which she refers to it as puppy dog) with ball in front. Triangle pose palm pose-ball above head tree pose-ball above head tree/palm pose combo-ball above head down dog cat/cow-leaning over with hands on ball Salutation: sort of a flow chair pose plank down dog chair childs pose Variations on warrior pose (some with twists)--all supported by the ball seated eagle pose-difficult on the ball-wrapping one leg around the other and just having one leg to stabilize yourself. seated prayer twist side planks lunge/prayer twist down dog ?superman? pose Whole body stretch over ball Sitting on floor: forward bends-ball in front on back: twists relaxation with legs resting on ball (short) In general this is a good stretching workout it is not aerobic in any sense the pace is slow (each pose is held at least 3 or 4 breaths). Sara is always concerned about proper form and alignment. I think it is an excellent workout for the core. Aerostep is on my schedule for tomorrow night:) Stacey

If I have time I'll do it tonite and review it! hiya - i am quite interested in knowing if the workout really is for beginners or not. remember 'pilates on the ball' with lizbeth garcia? also put out by natural journeys and also billed as a beginner workout. i did not agree with that rating at all, although it has been some time since ive done it. :*carolyn.
