Guest guest
Deb, you did the best that you could at the time with the information that you had. I feel the same way about my own health and KNOW that I could have prevented my chronic fatigue CRASH had I known then what I know now. But life is a journey and getting sick had a purpose in my journey... if I hadn't gotten sick, I wouldn't have the knowledge to be here helping others.Your mother knew that you loved her and that is what matters now. I just lost my mother-in-law to cancer a week ago today. I was with her, my husband, and 8 of her family members as she took her last breath. I know how you feel about wishing you could have done things differently. I learned about Low Dose Naltrexone (something that "might" have helped) only after she had already been taking morphine - which is too late (they don't mix). Guest guest
Wow, that's recent for you all - so sorry! I could just as easily apply it to myself as well - I've been low energy for many years. Wish I'd known for me, too - and I'm sure my journey to health is just beginning. Would have loved to have lived a fuller life up until now - but we can't live on what ifs. I'll take today, and be thankful ... Deb From: Lea Ann Savage <lsavage@...>Subject: What's in Ensure... Guest guest
Me too (the overwhelmed part). I have made a very concious decision that while I have many areas of life pulling me, getting my health has to be the very first. That helps me to focus on that not only time wise, but money wise. That's why we're spending the extra for organic meat and produce, and raw milk, and such things as that - and why we went ahead and purchased the Vitamix. At this point, I'd give up one of our cars or move into a smaller home if it meant buying what I needed to buy, to be healthy. Health is foundational. I sense I'm slowly turning a corner here! My journey started about Jan. 19, when I began juicing, and cutting out caffiene and sugar, and white flour. Today I am caffiene free, off anti-depressants, and I am beginning to look different. My hair and skin has a different look - and I ran into an acquaintence earlier today and was told I look "healthy." January 19 was not very long ago! The Vitamix has made all the difference in the world, because I make smoothies so quick and easy. I won't give up on the juicing, but that was only part of the story. I can whip up a smoothie so quick - any time I am hungry, it's right there. That's such a key - to have something to grab quick. I am beyond excited about this. The Vitamix has a permanent place on my counter, and no appliance gets that privilage. I like my counter uncluttered - it's a must, because I don't have the counter space some do. There's no place to put anything if it isn't clear. But I am using the Vitamix several times a day, so it stays. What is amazing to me, about the Standard American Diet, is that any of us on it have any energy at all. We are truly so resiliant for what we do to ourselves. Here's to turning it around. Guest guest
We lost my father in law last year to lung cancer. He was living on ensure because he would not eat and was losing weight and strength. I am sorry I didn’t know about the Vita mix before then. Looking at the ingredients for ensure, it was probably the LAST thing he should have been drinking. L Lee Ann, I am sorry to hear about your loss.
