Guest guest
I too buy Wyman's wild blueberries from Costco. I have a choice to buy them or the cultivated organic blueberries for similiar price. Wyman's wild blueberries aren't organic, but I understand that the company uses minimal pesticides only when necessary, and being that they are " wild " grown not much pesticide is needed. Is this true? I like the taste of the wild blueberries better and the organic wild blueberries are more expensive. My question is: is it better to buy non-organic wild blueberries or organic regular blueberries? I am sharing my 4 pound bag with an elderly friend who can't shop for herself anymore and follows a healthy diet (she tries to follow the Hallalujah diet closely....I only agree with bits and pieces of it)....she prefers organic fruits/veggies, but I am thinking the wild blueberries I am buying are just as good as cultivated organic for her. Any opinions? Also, just as a side, I have never agreed with the man who teaches Hallelujah diet that juicing is more nutritious than blending (except in case when someone is fighting an illness where they need nutrients to their bodies quickly and digesting fiber would slow the nutrient consumption down)....but in reading my friend's Hallelujah Acres magazine.... the Hallelujah Acres people studied enzyme activity in blended vs. juiced veggies and were SURPRISED to find blended veggies were higher in enzymes.....Also Dr. Malkmus (sp?) has recently added a green smoothie to his diet in the morning....something he thought he would never do. Have a good day, Kim (in TN)
