Guest guest
This is another unique Kundalini dvd. It's purpose is to acheive mental clarity, and this is done through 20 different poses and mudras. I will say right now that this dvd won't appeal to the majority of the exercising population. It's not a huge calorie burner, though I will say you do get a great upper body workout through some of the mudras. The instructor, Gurutej Kaur, wears a turban and exotic clothing, and at first she appeared to me to be air headed and flippant through her speech, but in all honesty I felt GREAT after this practice and think there is something to this. In this dvd, as with the one I did last night, you concentrate on sut-nam, sut on the inhale, nam on the exhale. The chants for this were the same as in the other dvd. The only pose I really recognized from other yoga practices was the wheel pose (ourandanasa sp?) which is actually quite advanced. She also did a reverse plank, but with leg lifts. However, many of the mudras were wrist shakes of different sorts to shake out frustrations, and other mudras were to gather in energy. If you believe in this kind of thing, and I happen to, you really will feel more clear in the head. At the end was a seated meditation with mudras, and then shivasana. If you're a spritual type looking for " alternative " yoga practices than what is tradionally found at Target, I do suggest Kundalini yoga!
