Guest guest
So as I've mentioned, loves spelling, and works really hard to memorize her spelling words. They have been pretty straightforward (box, hot, etc.) with two " extra credit " words. This week they were block and hospital. Monday night, when it looked like hospital was hopeless, I got a brainstorm and said " it is ho (like Santa? said), spit, al " She kept going around ho-spit-al, saying it like that, but she finally got the spelling down..... three small words were much easier than one long word. Well, I was just working with her orally, not having her write the words as she practiced. The test came home today and you guessed it....... ho spit al (but after my getting on them for being so nit-picky, they didn't mark it wrong for leaving two spaces in hospital). She was tickeled she got it right, and I've learned an important lesson about breaking up a word for spelling purposes, LOL. , mom to (9), (7 DS), and (6)
