Guest guest
Good to read about everyone. My husband went into heart failure August 2010. The next month his EP doctor wanted to implant a new 3-lead device specifically designed for HF patients. He is not dependent upon it, but he is being paced 100% of the time. This is good because he had issues with Afib and Vtach both. Implantation was September 3, 2010. One month later he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. (Will the fun never end?) Since we live in our motorhome, we decided to go to Houston to MD for treatment. Surgery was risky for him, so he chose proton beam radiation, a form of concentrated radiation. He used his care-link to send a report to his interventional cardiologist daily after his radiation treatment. He had 39 of them, daily, excluding weekends. He just had his yearly checkup with his regular cardiologist and EP doctor and there was nary a blip on the radar on his device. It is now a year old, and unlike every previous year, he didn't have one incident reported. . . not even a hiccup or a charge, etc. And that includes all the three months of radiation treatment! He is doing very well with this device. . .has more energy, can do more and is feeling great. And all the tests for the cancer are indicating it is no longer a problem and the PSA number continues to decline. Life is good. Good luck to all of you and Merry Christmas.
