Guest guest
I bought a bag of those at Wal-Mart. I think they were about $3 a bag, but they were the same as all of the other blueberries there. I think they also have a mixed-berry offering as well, so I'll check it out.
Guest guest
I don't know what to tell you--wild blueberries are noticeably different than cultivated blueberries. They're all different sizes and tend to be much smaller overall than cultivated blueberries. Maybe Wyman's also sell blueberries that aren't wild or maybe Walmart only had wild blueberries? Guest guest
I bought a bag of wild blueberries at Wal-Mart. They are the wild blueberries and were about $3 a bag. They are in my freezer right now. I had to go look at them before I replied the first time. I don't think Wal-Mart offered only wild blueberries. Maybe it's a smaller bag than you all buy. It's only 15 oz, so it's pretty small. But they were about the same price as I always compare the price per ounce when I'm at the grocery store. Guest guest
I buy 15 oz. (the "new pound," grr) bags, too, but I'm very loyal to Wyman's. I combine comparative shopping, because I'm always looking to pinch pennies, with other criteria. I often end up opting for the more expensive product because there's something that I think is important that tips the scale (made/grown here, ingredient quality, the fact that I tend to be loyal to vendors/manufacturers, ...) but sometimes I can't justify it. For example, I REALLY like Rao's Siciliana pasta sauce and will pick up a jar or two when I it's on sale. However, Fairway has a slammin' marinara sauce that's a LOT cheaper and the jar's a LOT bigger, too. Do I prefer Rao's? Yeah, but I don't prefer it $7 more/jar more. I guess it's just a matter of where you set your priorities. I usually buy the supermarket brand frozen strawberries but I'm distressed to say that the organically grown and much more expensive European imports (maybe Cascadian Farms?) taste a lot better.
