Guest guest
My appointment is next Monday, I go every 6 months, since 2005. A few yrs ago I had my first zap (just 1) and my EP took my driving privileges and said if my next checkup showed no zaps, he would let me drive again. Six months later he was true to his word and I was again allowed to drive. Then a month before my Next checkup I had another zap (just 1). lost my driving privileges, and yup once again a month ago, just before this upcoming appt I had another zap. I guess I just want some sympathy. lol So I may not get my driving privileges back, maybe forever. I have another issue that may be an issue with my ICD so I am asking if anyone has had this problem. Last summer I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon, in Sept his office sent me to a hospital for a pre op briefing and they had a bed for me for Dec 6th. So in Nov I went to the hosp for this, and did I ever get a surprise. The hospital advised that I needed to be referred to another hospital, one of the two which have every kind of service imaginable. I was in total shock! I got turned down by a hospital? He dad explain it of course, that their hospital could not treat a patient who needed special care. So he reported this to the surgeon who was to refer me to one of the main hospitals. so I waited, and waited, and the other day I decided it was time, so I called up the referring surgeon's office and a very nice lady who answered informed me that this surgeon has been on sick leave for months! but she did have access to the files and found mine, yep I had been referred, on Nove. 23th. I got a telephone no. from her and reached the Vancouver City Hospital's complex joint reconstruction clinic. Well, I was not on any of their lists (3 different specialists) but the fellow I was talking to managed to got all my records forwarded from the lady I mentioned. he called me the next day, (this was last Tuesday) and my appt is next Tuesday. I also received a very nice apology, even though no one knows what happened to the first referral. So I'll be getting a hip replacement. Can anyone tell me what if any issues might arise with my ICD? Something must have spooked the first hospital. I would appreciated your help. Lynda (Leming)
