Guest guest
Welcome and talk to Lea Ann (her contact info is on our home page). You might find that you'd be happier with a refurbished 5200 with the standard 64 oz. container and (sooner) free shipping. In the meantime, just make yourself t'home and browse the previous posts with subjects that might be of interest to you. QVC - New Machine I just purchased the VM from QVC on special last night. However, I could only get the black which will not ship until the end of February. I have wanted this machine for years and was very excited about it. I joined this group to learn more before my machine arrived. Now I am wondering if I bought the right machine and if I could still find an even better deal. I like that it comes with the 48 oz container and it was only $363 with free shipping. I thought I got a great deal. Is there a better deal out there that I might be missing? Thanks,
Guest guest
If you order from Lea Ann, she can get the color you want, containers you want, and you can likely have it buzzing contently on your kitchen counter before this weekend-for as good, or better price! Lea Ann is at a show right now, but usually checks her emails in the evenings. Lea Ann can arrange a 3 payment plan as well, to the best of my knowledge. Worth checking with her, as I am sure you can still cancel with QVC. Either way, welcome to the group! From: <kareningotham@...>Subject: Re: QVC - New Machine Date: Monday, January 24, 2011, 9:38 AM Welcome and talk to Lea Ann (her contact info is on our home page). Guest guest
I got the same exact one. I was soo excited- but ten bummed as I realized that the container is smaller. however for me it was a better deal for me to get this one- for the price. I probably would not have splurged and paid the price of the 5200. (I would've kept putting it offetc...). This purchase gets me " in the door " per say with the vitamix world. I I feel I just " need " to get the bigger one (because I Need the bigger container) then I will revisit that in a couple years. For now I am glad I got a " vitamix " for $380 w/tax- even if I can only have the smaller container. I think there are " deals " out there-like refurbished machines, no shipping, deals but for a new vitamix- I think the QVC deal was the best priced all-together. > > I just purchased the VM from QVC on special last night. Guest guest
Someone in another group (Eat-2-Live, I think) did a comparison and found that the motor is the same as the 5200 (they said there was no difference is a side-to-side comparison, however I didn't do the comparison myself), so if you needed a bigger container, I don't think you would have to buy an entirely new machine, just the container. For many of us, the QVC model has been excellent. I bought mine last November with the 64 oz. container for $376 (free S & H) plus tax and paid $399 in 5 payments of $79.80. I have one payment left. I have been very satisfied with the QVC model and haven't felt that it's inferior in any aspect. The "under $80 payments" are the reason that I was able to get the Vitamix the month before Christmas. I can do without the soft-touch handle and controls. That type of "frill" is not on top of my list. Quality and performance are. Because I don't believe that Vitamix would sell a defective model through QVC, I'm betting on Vitamix's quality that the blender will last far beyond the 5-year warranty. I know a lot of people here think that the model I bought is inferior and not as good as even a refurbished model, but I don't feel that way and I will recommend purchasing Vitamix blenders through QVC to anyone based on my own personal experience. BUT, that's only my 2¢. Lorihttp://lifeontheveganedge.blogspot.com/ From: Nadine <ncruzsaubert@...> Sent: Mon, January 24, 2011 3:24:30 PMSubject: Re: QVC - New Machine I got the same exact one. Guest guest
You can also get different sized containers from Lea Ann, for 99 with free shipping. You may find that the 48 oz is fine, but if not, its worth the extra to get the size you want. Guest guest
I agree with you 100%. My vitamix is shipped from QVC already! I will look into getting the bigger once I find out for sure if it's compatible- need be it. > > Someone in another group (Eat-2-Live, I think) did a comparison and found that > the motor is the same as the 5200 (they said there was no difference is a > side-to-side comparison, however I didn't do the comparison myself), so if you > needed a bigger container, I don't think you would have to buy an entirely new > machine, just the container. > > For many of us, the QVC model has been excellent. I bought mine last November > with the 64 oz. container for $376 (free S & H) plus tax and paid $399 in 5 > payments of $79.80. I have one payment left. I have been very satisfied with > the QVC model and haven't felt that it's inferior in any aspect. The " under $80 > payments " are the reason that I was able to get the Vitamix the month before > Christmas. I can do without the soft-touch handle and controls. That type of > " frill " is not on top of my list. Quality and performance are. > > Because I don't believe that Vitamix would sell a defective model through > QVC,  I'm betting on Vitamix's quality that the blender will last far beyond the > 5-year warranty. I know a lot of people here think that the model I bought is > inferior and not as good as even a refurbished model, but I don't feel that way > and I will recommend purchasing Vitamix blenders through QVC to anyone based on > my own personal experience. > > > BUT, that's only my 2¢. >  Lori > http://lifeontheveganedge.blogspot.com/ > > > > > ________________________________ > From: Nadine <ncruzsaubert@...> > > Sent: Mon, January 24, 2011 3:24:30 PM > Subject: Re: QVC - New Machine > >  > I got the same exact one. Guest guest
I got mine from qvc too because I was tired of waiting for theRoad show to return to Costco where you could get a brand new not refurbished 5200 for 394.00 w/ 7 year warranty, however I couldn't wait and I liked the payment option. I too was disappointed later thinking I got a different machine and was going to send it back, later I found out same exact machine except Black rubber handle, who cares about the handle... And I'm not worried about the 2 year difference in the warranty unless vitamixes have a rep of clonking out after 5 years I should be good. It works well and I love it! I didn't get as good of a deal as last TSV offered on qvc, mine was 414.00 came with a stupid cup, n 64 oz container. I'd much rather paid 373.00 n got useful spatulas....lol but I'm happy, just order larger container if you find the need, otherwise spend the money you saved on a dry container and then you've got the complete set w/ spatulas for 472.00 on the most affordable payment plan out there! A steal of a deal!Neva been More ready! On Jan 24, 2011, at 1:24 PM, "Nadine" <ncruzsaubert@...> wrote: I got the same exact one. Guest guest
Lori,You are correct that the motor in the Creations is the same as the 5200. The only major difference is the extra 2-year warranty and the rest is only cosmetic. You are also correct that for people who absolutely cannot afford $379 (for a refurbished machine) on a 3-payment plan with Free Shipping - the QVC model is the way to go.When you recommend the QVC model, it might be a good idea to mention the option I mentioned above, because some people might want to know all of their options and too many people only think that they can get a 5200 for $449. Guest guest
Thanks for the info, Lea Ann. I won't recommend the QVC model in this group again. I'll limit my recommendations to the other Vitamix group and Eat-2-Live group. I didn't realize that part of this group was to promote purchase through you, but I realized that during the last few days. I've kinda felt ostracized for buying a QVC model. I won't mention it again. I truly appreciate the information below and enjoy reading some of the recipes here. Guest guest
Lori, PLEASE don't feel bad for buying the QVC model! It is actually a decent deal, and I am sure Lea Ann would not want you to feel bad in any way! This group was NOT developed as a sales tool-we just try to push sales Lea Ann's way since that is how she earns her living. Naturally, if Lea Ann can make a sale that's all the better, but I am sure I speak for all of us when I say we would not want you to feel that way. The purpose of this group is to share recipes and ideas, not to evaluate HOW someone acquired their machine. From: Lori Ann <dimplesnwinks@...>Subject: Re: QVC - New MachineTo: Date: Wednesday, January 26, 2011, 9:56 PM Thanks for the info, Lea Ann. Guest guest
Oh no - my post had the opposite effect of what I intended - I am so sorry Lori! I thought that you might be feeling ganged up on and I wanted to affirm that the QVC model is a good choice for some people. I do know that there are all kinds of buyers and everyone has different things that motivate them - whether they get it from me or from Vitamix or another affiliate - there are some people for whom the extra 2-year warranty would really matter. I come across people who don't bat an eye at the $499 price for stainless because 1) Stainless and 2) New is what floats their boat. I wasn't trying to sell for me - I was saying that when you endorse the QVC model on your blog that you might want to give them all of the options so they could make an informed choice for THEIR internal motivators. There are lots of people who have the QVC model and are very happy with it and they are welcome! I welcome your endorsement of what you like about the QVC model.I think that there are people who are grateful that I take time to answer questions and help them out and in their zeal to return the favor, they might have come across as too eager to send sales my way. Think of it in that light and I hope you will see that you are most welcome and it was never anyone's intent to denigrate your choice in a Vitamix machine.I hope you will forgive me for being unclear. Guest guest
Oh, ditto that. In fact, were I ever to buy a new machine it would be through Barbie at Vitamix who sold me my 5000--not only is that (I believe) Vitamix's policy but it's motivated by loyalty to a rep who went out of her way to get me a great deal and was never pushy either. We all support Lea Ann here and want to see her pick up as many sales as possible but we'd never judge anyone for not buying a machine through her and besides, there are folks who buy after seeing the Vitamix demonstrated live by demonstrators other than Lea Ann in other parts of the country. They deserve a commission for their efforts as well and everyone's welcome here...except those who aren't (and they're not here). Getting the most out of that machine and honestly answering the questions of those who are interested but on the fence is what we're about. When you recommend the QVC model, it might be a good idea to mention the option I mentioned above, because some people might want to know all of their options and too many people only think that they can get a 5200 for $449. For some people that extra 2-year warranty is very important. Choices are always a good thing! :-) Blessings, Lea Ann Savage Satellite Beach, FL (321) 773-7088 (home) (321-961-9219 (cell) www.VitamixLady.com www..com <))>< .. Guest guest
Thanks, Lea Ann. I appreciate the support. I think you give LOADS of great information, much of which has been very helpful to me. This group has helped to inspire me into using my Vitamix more, and that's a good thing. Thanks again! Guest guest
Lori, I can only second what has said. Please don't feel bad - most of us only find this wonderful group after we have already purchased our machines. I get the impression that Lea Ann, although happy to gain as many new sales as possible, is more intrested in helping us get the best possible use out of our machines, regardless of where we purchased them. The help and advice I have received from my few short months on the group is just amazing, and I know I am only scratching the surface of what my Vita Mix can do! BTW I checked out your blog and look forward to trying out some of your recipes - I am a new vegetarian - thanks for including the link in your signature :-) Niki GloverCentral Coast, NSW, Australia On 27 January 2011 14:01, Berry <berrywell@...> wrote:  Lori, PLEASE don't feel bad for buying the QVC model! Guest guest
Uh...Chuck...it's actually "nudge nudge, wink wink." If you're going to put in your 2¢, try to be accurate when doing so--it's a fairly negligible amount and not difficult for most primates to track. Guest guest
Lori, if you feel comfortable, do share the "other vitamix group" with us, I would like the opportunity to explore more possibilties!
