Guest guest
I make batches of apple (or pear) sauce by cooking the apples in my solar oven, but they can be done easily in a slow cooker or crock pot too. I cook them whole, since they are easier to core and peel AFTER cooking. Then, I just toss the cooked apples in the Vitamix and pour the sauce into ice cube trays to freeze. Then, I transfer the cubes to zipper bags or a mason jar. When you need just a bit of applesauce, such as for an egg substitute in baking, you can just thaw out an individual cube or two-they thaw in just a few minutes.
