Applesauce in a flash

Just thought I'd share... I needed (cooked) applesauce for a recipe (which, btw, was really good! The links are on this blog: http://heathereatsalmondbutter.com/2011/01/21/who-needs-bagels/) but I forgot to buy applesauce at the store. I only needed a little. I wound up microwaving an organic apple cut in two & covered for less than 4-min. and then blending the entire thing (peel & all) in the Vita-mix. Applesauce in less than 5 minutes! And it was sooo good!

Why thank you for letting me know !It is a really healthy snack. Apples are full of fiber, lemons are alkalizing to your body (even though they are acidic going in), dates have 3 grams of fiber per serving, and cinnamon is good for your heart!I bet that the nutmeg added a wonderful depth of flavor!

Thanks. We are into apple season now so I think I'll bake an apple pie this week and make some apple butter and apple syrup for pancakes plus the apple sauce. Why not make them all I say. I make a fabulous apple pie where I thinly slice the apples. They maintain their shape and have great texture along with flavor. I dislike apple pies with the texture of chunky applesauce. other type of sweetener other than dates..but would that chg the consistency if

I did that ????
