For me personally elderberry seems to work wonders. I take it (one capsule) at

the first sign of a secondary infection and go to bed and most of the time I

wake up feeling good as new. You can get the liquid also but it's more

expensive.

Barr Virus no doubt) and I used to get sick EVERY year. This year there have

been two illnesses that went through our entire family (a very bad sore throat

and a stomach flu) and both times I felt the illness coming on and I did an

" antibiotic dose " of Vitamin D3 (50,000 mg per day for 3 days) and both times I

could tell that my body was fighting something off (I was more tired than usual

and a bit " sicky " feeling) but never succumbed to either the sore throat (mine

started to get sore but the soreness went away with the first day's dose of D3)

and with the stomach flu I didn't have the achy wiped out day after that

everyone else did.

Thanks, maybe I just have to go out and look for some elderberry wine. Wasn't

that the old home remedy?

Seriously, I just checked with Puritan.com and think I will order a bottle and

see. I have heard that it is helpful. Thank you.

Erm, um, LOL, RIGHT, maybe that's why it is so popular? Actually I think that

Sambucol was the model, it's a liquid form of elderberry and super popular in

Europe. For me capsules work and are less expensive (grin). Gives me a good

excuse to go buy a bottle of elderberry wine though huh? Actually the old

Southern family recipe was 1 part lemon juice (which actually has actifed type

properties), one part honey (a demulcent which also has immune boosting

properties) and one part bourbon. www.pennherb.com has the best catalog of

herbal properties on line.
