Guest guest
For the past 3 years I've used nothing but water on my tooth brush and afterwards I rinse the toothbrush with hydrogen peroxide to kill germs. I can feel when the "fuzzies" are off of my teeth just from the mechanics of the toothbrush. Then I use the Water Pic with Baking Soda added to the water solution. Since I've begun this routine I've gone from having deep pockets that my dentist wanted to do surgery on to perfect gums and I also used to have at least one or two new cavities every check up to NO CAVITIES in the past 3 years! It isn't sugar that causes cavities - it is the acid that is fed by the sugar that erodes tooth enamel. Baking Soda is alkaline and counteracts the acidity. Getting under the gum line with the Water Pic is important because brushing never gets into that area where the germs and acid lurk. Rinsing or better a quick brush over your teeth and tongue with water after eating or drinking acid stuff (lemons, coffee, etc.) really helps a lot. If you feel like you must have something on your toothbrush and you can stand the taste, baking soda alone is excellent (remember - Neutralize Acid!!!)I also keep a big glass of water with Baking Soda in it to rinse with when I am in too much of a hurry to do a quick swipe with the tooth brush. If it is always available I am much more likely to use it.Here is an excellent website about making your own toothpaste: http://mizar5.com/toothpst.htmBut I keep it so simple and so far it has really worked for me. You can even "cure" cavities, infections, and gum disease on your own.One last thing - at the same time that I quit using toothpaste and switched to water and a toothbrush only I took sugar out of my diet. I don't think I would have the same positive results if I were still consuming sugars.Oh, and on more "last thing" :-) I keep a toothbrush in my car and dry brush often. When I get home I sterilize my dirty toothbrush with peroxide or colloidal silver. I can go from "fuzzy" feeling teeth to smooth and clean feeling just with a dry brush! Guest guest
What type of Water Pic do you have? I have been thinking about getting the portable one.
