Guest guest
No, there's a CIA Master Chefs book that has only 23 recipes and I believe (although I'm not sure) that the Create book is different as well because of the audience they're targeting: http://www.vitamix.com/professionalseries/start/compare.asp . Actually, Create comes with the 500 as well, which is what Char has. Maybe at some point she'll compare Creations to Create and let us know if there's any difference. Re: Re: Question I think the "Creations" cookbook (a la QVC) *is* the CIA cookbook that comes with the machine. Guest guest
I just called Vitamix Customer Service. The Symon videos come packaged WITH the CIA cookbook (cannot be sold separately) and currently they don't even have the CIA cookbook in inventory to sell :-(Sorry - I tried... Guest guest
I found that all the recipes are identical. The page numbers are different. Guest guest
Is the standard cost for a cookbook about $50. from Vitamix. Are they most often available? Guest guest
Lee Ann, did they say whether or not they will have them in the future? And, would they be worth it to someone who already has the VHS and Cookbook? I bought my 5000 before the DVD's came out, not sure if the DVD has more than my VHS. Guest guest
The CIA cookbook is a specialty cookbook for foodies (I think). The updated Whole Foods Cookbook is much better than the one that came with the 5000 - the new book even has a section for Green Smoothies! I would think that the DVD and the VHS wouldn't be a whole lot different in content (though they are different I think). From time to time I have used 5200 Whole Foods Cookbooks (the ones that have been on my demonstration table until they get uky looking ;-) but instead of listing them on EBay they pile up at my house because lately I've been too busy to list them. I usually get around $25-$35 on EBay when I do list them - they come with the DVD and the Getting Started Guide. Guest guest
Thank you, Char--now we know! Now, if only we could get our hands on those CIA recipes and DVDs... BTW, how do you like the DVD that came with your 500? Steve Schimoler looks to be a hometown, i.e., Cleveland-based, chef whom I became familiar with on the commercial site: http://www.vitamix.com/xl/schimolerSteve01.html . I enjoyed his demos and I suspect that his Pro 500 DVD is entertaining also. Impressions? Guest guest
The video that came with the 500 - Steve Schimoler is the same video that is on the VM website. My machine was purchase the week before VM started selling the 500 from their location, can you believe that. I bought my 500 on Amazon.
