Guest guest
re: "my nurse practioner signed me up in APRIL for my old guy exam stuff and the earliest the proctologist's office can get to me for my 1/2 day introductory education lecture is OCTOBER! That's not even to have the scope done. So we have a six month wait for my sigmodoscopy lecture." [NOT trying to be a wise guy here, this just seems strange] That's a long lecture for an old guy to sit through...Is this a regular or newly instituted approach in their office? ? Do they make all old guys or just chiropractors go through this? Is their schedule too full of higher priority services? Is the lecturer a new addition? Do they have a minimum number before they hold a class? Is this an *actual* necessary service or one of those interesting CPT codes that allows for a little extra consult work? Is it originated due to 'business office' or 'therapy' protocol? FWIW, my own family has has two recent exams scheduled within a matter of a few weeks, with an entirely new provider, for a couple of issues to be evaluated...and I wonder whether their schedule of 'school physicals' and other predictable seasonal OVs are simply being spread out to give a less hectic-more balanced work load for a managed care facility.... I can image even a few more possibilities for such a long lead time....and I wonder what the lead time would be for similar in Canada.... good luck in any case..... J.
