Guest guest
I have a 6 year old granddaughter who can't seem to get enough breath. She yawns a lot even when rested. She takes one of those inhaling sighs like she is striving to inhale instead of normally breathing. Otherwise cute as a bug's ear, sharp as a tack, and healthy as a horse. I am adjusting her to stimulate her nervous system. Any ideas? ( E. Abrahamson, D.C.) Guest guest
Hi ,I would suggest this is O2/CO2 issue and can be resolved most likely by recognition and practice of nasal breathing. Look for some respiratory problems mechanically if she has any difficulties with breathing through the nose. I've attached copy I use in this regard.... Hope it helps! Guest guest
No PA and congestive heart failure yes which can be called cardiac asthma. A spirometry test is not the way to make this Dx. History, as usual, is much better. I assume you told him you were on BB.My choice would have been to stop BB. Why did he not want to do this. Giving one drug alberterol to counteract BB is not good medicine. Need good Hx of your breathing difficulties. Guest guest
Dr. Grim, No history of breathing problems before this (I am 51). Also did EKG at the same time, that was normal. Have had Echo's done in the past, they were normal. The only family hx of asthma is my youngest boy, who has exercise induced. Yeah, he knows I am on BB, he is my internist and manages my BP. Wants to get me off BB ASAP, but wants BP to stabilize 1st. We just incr'd Spriro to 75 mg 2xday (up from 50 2xday). I am still 'spiking' but not as high and am having more normal readings (130-140/80-90). It has been about 6 weeks. Thanks for your input.
