Guest guest
Doctors, all, 1) Please see attached letter the OBCE has sent to Tampa Florida medical equipment vendor Analgesic Healthcare. We received a reliable report last week that they were calling Oregon chiropractors with an offer that would violate the Board's prohibition on fee-splitting in the referral of patients for services. 2) Also attached is a press release from the state Attorney General's office yesterday in regards to an " Assurance of Voluntary Compliance " signed by Axiom Worldwide Inc. (also from Tampa, Florida) and Altadonna DC of Danville, California. Axiom must pay $100,000 (of which $25,000 is stayed) and Dr. Altadonna must pay $25,000 for deceptive advertisements. The AG's office had alleged violations of the Oregon Unlawful Trade Practices Act, ORS 646.605 through ORS 646.656, for deceptive advertising. 3) The OBCE's next meeting is July 19th at WSCC, public session is first at 8:30 a.m. The public agenda is attached. The Final minutes for the May meeting are up on the OBCE web page. Have a good 4th of July. Dave McTeague, Ex. Dir., Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners 503-378-5816 ext. 23 http://www.oregon.gov/OBCE/
