Senate Bill 717 - CALL TO ACTION!

Dear colleagues;

The profession needs your help to voice it’s

collective opposition to Senate Bill 717 which would allow the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners to

appoint a “scope of practice review

committee” for regulating the expansion of health care

profession’s requests to expand their scopes of practice!

This means that if our profession wishes to expand our scope

of practice for example to include hospital staff privliges or whatever else we

would have to gain the support of the medical profession! Can you say Wilk anti-trust law suit and it’s

findings? Contain and then eliminate the chiropractic

profession was their goal….this bill is the equivalent to asking the “fox to go into the hen house

to then please count the chickens and report back telling us (legislators) if

any chickens be missing” ya right…or as “Bones”

said to captain Kirk about Spock after his declining that he had an emotional

outburst…in a pig’s

eye!

Geez, like I don’t have enough to do in Salem…this bill is

up for a hearing and possible work session (which means the committee could

vote it out to the Senate for a vote!) Monday 8:30 AM!!!!!

NEED YOU TO DO IN THE NEXT FEW MINS!

Call the following senators (you will get a

staff person not the senator that’s ok) and voice your opposition to this

bill:

Sen. Laurie Monnes- (Chair) and

this is her idea……..503-986-1725 she is in the Gresham area

so it is especially important for doctors in the Gresham area to call her

office and make sure you tell the staff person you are calling from her

district!
