Guest guest
I have just had one of the biggest scares of my life. I went to the village to sort out some bills and when I came home my daughter calmly told me that Tim had gone for a walk by himself, she thought to the park, but wasn't sure. My new au pair (only been her 48 hours) was out looking for him. It was though my daughter I'd left tim with and to whom he said he was going out. So I run into the park (house backs onto this), no sign, run to the play park, no Tim, people there start looking for him, (Its a huge area of grass with a wooded path surrounding it) I call the police who start looking for him, went home got the car and start touring the streets looking for him, went round to a friends house to muster more troops and get a call on my mobile that he's safe and back home. Thank God for mobiles! It was only 45 minutes but the scariest of my life. I thought 'd kill him when I got home but I didn't, i didn't even raise my voice which I suspect scared him more! He did cry though when I said he wouldn't be going to the cinema later as promised! Its really hard for the poor boy, all his same age peers have so much more freedom than he does and I tried again to explain that life simply isn't fair and he isn't as safe as his friends, they can cross roads safely, they are bigger and stronger-though that didn't stop a fairly beefy looking 11 year old boy from being murdered in Scotland last week- Ah well, scare over and nothing stronger than caffeine free coffee in the house to drink!
