Guest guest
Hello list: I felt compelled to write having read an email from Dr. Sears which was sent directly to individuals. He apparently had to communicate this way having been barred from the listserve. I initially did not read the original post from Dr. Beebe, but after reading the apparently threatening response from Dr. Sears I was inspired to read it. The post from Dr. Sears was surprising to say the least. Although I don’t know him personally I have always found his posts interesting and with unique perspective, and never would have expected such a response. Having read the off-topic article posted by Dr. Beebe I now know what provoked him. I certainly don’t agree with the article, in any way. Times are changing (they always are) and change can be fearful, but the article author in my opinion is a fear-mongering, bitter individual. South Africa is not the US and the situation except at the very limits of logic does not compare. But the irony is the author points out that when confronted Americans will slink back to the back of the room and not be heard. Dr. Sears did not slink away, and although his language was severe I believe he was speaking in a metaphorical way and not directly challenging Dr. Beebe to a brawl. This listserve is a valuable tool, and Dr. Sears and Dr. Beebe both have good input; their views are counterpoints often. I think us as a profession would be poorly served by losing either from the list. Dr. , please accept Dr. Sears apology and move on. And perhaps the greater list could benefit from not posting such way, way off-topics and stick to health, wellness and of course Chiropractic.
