Shad:

Thanks for your response.

You say my summary is not accurate. Okay, I tried.

You ask me to give my definition re. subluxation....I already answered the question re. subluxation. Your colleague declared my explanation illogical, but he never took the time or effort to explain why it was illogical. Perhaps you can elaborate on how my explanation of subluxation is illogical. Please log into and the listserve and do a message search of my posts and look for the two or three posts to your colleague from me from about 2 weeks ago. I am not retyping it again for your benefit here.

The reason for the my attempted summary is this: Shad, you and your colleague dropped a proverbial 'bomb' on this list-serve 2 weeks ago by basically saying "hey, you are ALL misguided and wrong in your approach to chiropractic but WE we have the 'correct' approach". When he (and now you) were rightfully queried and asked to explain your stance, the various listmembers/questioners (including myself) got (and continue to get) answers that were either based on some "strawman" concept of subluxation that you apparently believe is embedded in the minds of moronic chiropractors everywhere OR 2) He and you inappropriately moved the conversation to the concept of acute post-traumatic myospastic protective mechanisms.

To date, we really have received very little substantive response. Remember, you made the initial statement about how subluxation model that we ALL allegedly emabrace is erroneous, so doc you have got to stand your ground and respond to all reasonable inquiries. But talk about smoke and fire, from what I have read, we have got not much more than smoke from you thus far. It is confused-sounding and somewhat muddled. That is why those docs are frustrated and so upset with you. By attempting that summary, I was simply trying to build a model to decipher what is going on in your head, because you have NOT done a very good job of communicating it yourself. But alas, my summary is not accurate...oh well I tried.

Yes, I have more questions, but I will post them on the list-serve, I don't want to have side-bar conversation on this subject as it is of interest to many members. Before I ask any more questions i want you to see your answer jack pederson's question that was posed on Nov 18. (message #22206)

Cheers.

J.

Thank you , for doing that summary. Your request is valid.

However, after reading the Barrett article that he posted as a response, I would question his presence in our profession. How can a person spend the time and effort it takes to get here and continue to do what it takes to get and keep a practice going if he has so little respect for what he does. Would be too much incongruence for me to tolerate. (which is why/how I'm a chiropractor, btw.)
