Guest guest
Jeanine , Oh I am so sorry to hear this. With all the other problems you have had... I will keep you and yours in my prayers ... Special thoughts Kim Subject: OT, thoughts ,please My son and Dh were to go sailing this afternoon. (DH) tripped on the dock, fell into the harbor. Smashed his face to a fare-thee-well. I was called at work and took him to the ER at Sister's Hosp. did fracture his cheekbone but the worst was yet to come. The CT scan showed a cervical fracture. Yes, he broke his neck. There is no paralysis so far. They are doing more CT scans to see if there are any more fractures further down the neck. How lucky that we didn't do more damage when we took his wet shirts off. Thank goodness for my children and dear DIL. We were supposed to go to my nephew's wedding in Little Falls tomorrow. had said he wanted to go because he might not see the whole family together again. Guest guest
So glad to hear of 's full recovery. And you're right.....keep him off the dock!! Aloe Silly me, I have an aloe plant that I keep for just that purpose. BUT, it's in another room and I never thought about it. Guess I'll have to move it to the kitchen. It's one plant I have to keep in a bird cage because my cats love it! Thjey love all succulents. Go figure. Beth, I would use either fo or eo. Haven't used too many eo's except in dog soap. Is the usage less? got the OK to stop wearing the collar! Fracture is healed!!! Now to keep him off the dock... Jeanine
Guest guest
Jeanine Hard-hearted???? Not at all.....you sound like me. RE: RE: The good wife (OT) Brings to mind the block party we had last evening. I was going up to fix myself a plate of food and my neighbor came up behind me. I laughed and said that I thought he already had a plate. He said he was going to fix one for my DH because it looked as if I wasn't going to do it. Right on!!! My husband is not an invalid at this time and he should be moving around per doctor's orders. had said he wanted to wait a bit before eating as he was still drinking his wine. Funny because this fellow's wife does not wait on him. This fellow is a royal pain in the you-know-what. No, I did NOT fix 's plate and he also got up to get his own dessert. So much for 'the good wife'!! Both of us had a nice evening by the way, I told Dan, the neighbor, that I gave up baby sitting a long time ago. Got a thumbs up from the ladies that were there. I hope no one thinks I'm hard-hearted. Jeanine
Guest guest
Ooooh, thanks. I'll have to go check it out. I made 2 bars of Goatsmilk soap with Apricot Kernal Grains and Sweet Almond Oil and 1 bar with ground loofah. But I'll go check out the recipe you suggested and make a copy of it for my recipe file for future use. Thanks Shaye-recipe question for you
Guest guest
Yup, I know what you mean. I'd love to get another dog but my husband swears " no more pets!! " . The problem with having them is that when you want to go away you have to find somebody to take them for you. Plus, he says the dog would probably outlive him. " Yeah, so what your point? " is what I think to myself. (hehe) RE: OT- Can you identify breeds? , So sorry to hear about your dear dog. It's like losing a family member when they leave us. I said 'no more pets' when our last cat went to that litter box in the sky but what did we do? Brought home brothers!! Will I never learn? Guest guest
Jeanine I take care of my married daughter's cat when they go away, too. Well, there's really not much to take care of. Like you said, I just have to go to their house twice a day to make sure he's fed and clean the litter box. Dogs are a little different since they don't have " boxes to go in " in the house. And I've never been able to bring myself to put any of my dogs in a kennel when we leave town. So I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do that in the future if I ever got another dog. Guest guest
Well, they weren't really chunks. I always keep a guest sized mold on my counter when I'm making soap and just pour any left over soap into them. They usually ranged about 1/2 oz size (not full guest sized molds). The only problem I found was that since I had them wrapped in saran wrap and they were all in a small basket, over time the scents kind of ran into each other since they were touching each other. Also, I found they were also vulnerable to theft. Too easy for somebody to stick in their pocket. Therefore, I don't do it any more. RE: Re: $1.00 bin idea Blue Heron soaps hands out tons of samples at every show. Just a little chunk of soap with the name and fragrance on it. I still think people like free. , how big are your 'chunks'? Jeanine

That's what the coffee can was a few years ago before they changed the size and amount in the can so that the price wasn't raised. Instead, you were getting less coffee for the same cost. Guest guest
Yup, you never know when you have a dire need to duplicate a certain fragrance. And I've never seen any other site that offered to do that for customers. some good info Hey girls I just wanted to pass along some good info about an f/o supplier in Texas that I'd never dealt with before. ( I got his permission to do this, by the way.) I had a woman beg me to find a good " copy " of a B & BW fragrance that's being discontinued. She buys her soaps and lotions only in this scent at B & BW. So I did an extensive search trying to find " Sandalwood Rose " . On one of those sites that lists tons of scents and lists the suppliers who carries them I finally found two suppliers. I ordered a 2 oz bottle from the first company. It smelled nothing like the B & BW scent according to my customer. So she gave me a sample of her lotion so that maybe I could try to mix some f/o's myself and see if I could come close. I couldn't quite put my finger on what the fragrance consisted of. There was definitely more than sandalwood and rose in it. So I decided to email the 2nd company that I had found. Even though they didn't offer " sniffie " samples on their website I figured I'd ask if they could send a little cotton swab of their " Sandalwood Rose " to me to spare me the expense of wasting more money on a small bottle. They wrote me back and said they would send me a 1 oz bottle " free of charge. " The gentleman also told me that if my customer felt it didn't smell like the B & BW kind I could send him a sample of the lotion and they would duplicate it at their company because they make all of their f/o's right there. I was flabbergasted that they would do that for me and free of charge besides. I wrote him back and thanked him and told him about our group and told him that if he gave me permission I would love to pass on how nicely I was treated and the service that they offer. I'm sure a LOT of us have wasted money trying to get a certain scent only to receive it and say " no way, not even close. " Now, as to how good they are at duplicating I have no idea. But if this works out for me that company will be on the top of my list for purchasing f/o's. So......if you want to check out their website it's called ed Concepts and they're in Texas. Sorry this was so long. M

I had a fragrance from a friend years back that drove men wild-she could not find it as the shop in Malibu went under and she was striken! Poor dear...anyhoo...I got what she had left and the nose went to work. I got it close enough for her satisfaction, and sent an ounce down to Lebermuth who in turn cloned my own blend. It is my Spring Fever-and all I had to buy was 15 lbs. They keep the record for formulation. Deb will also take a sample to see if they have anything close. Good folks to work with. Guest guest
OMG, Jeanine!! Thank you for your email. I haven't checked my email for two days or I would have answered you yesterday. I can't believe it.....my computer seems to be fixed too!!! I just tried using my browser and it works. I went into Microsft Word and typed a " test " document and tried to " save " it and that worked too!! I'm on " automatic " updates from Microsoft and I noticed that I had a downloaded update take place when I went to shut my computer down this morning but never imagined that it would fix the problems that I was having but it must have been it. I feel so much better now. I'm glad I didn't have someone come to the house to try and fix it - I would have been furious. Thanks so much for letting me know because I had given up trying to use the browser. computer Strangely, my computer seems to be working normally now. It's Tuesday and I'm wondering if MS pushed the fix? , how is your computer? Jeanine Jeanine's Hummingbird Soap Works
Guest guest
'mornin Jeanine Does poking a few holes in the shrinkwrap prevent the wrap from loosening up down the road? I've always noticed that sometimes a soap that I wrapped had loosened up after some time. Guest guest
Im not Jeanine, but I'll answer anyways ( I think that the soap just shrinks a little . You can just hit it again with the heat gun to tightn the wrap back up. Poking a hole in thw wrap just lets the air escape when you first shrink it otherwize you have sort of a pillow. Guest guest
No , it helps the shrink to make a nicer package. You are less apt to have a hole blow in the wrapping while you are shrinking. Heard about doing this on one of the lists I'm on. Guest guest
, all but one. There was one year when we had three in college. Don’t know how we got through that! Daughter Jeanine did find a lot of funding, she is a real thrifty one. She and our son had state scholarships but lost his because he went to school in Ohio. It wasn’t a big amount of money but did help some with tuition. Now Jeanine is already saving for her sons tuitions and they are only 11 and 9. Upromise also helps with a college fund. So glad those days are over! I know the cost now is so much more.
