Guest guest
Hi Jessi, Happy New Year to you and yours. Just a thought about Earthlink/ problem: I think Earthlink's " Spaminator " software might think you are sending spam, although you aren't, when you e-mail the group. I haven't used Earthlink for well over a year now, but since they have their own browser and anti-spam software, it could be what's hanging up your e-mail. You might want to call their tech support, which I always got good answers from, and ask them about it. I don't think they would block only you mail. Guest guest
Hello Jessi I flew to Canada back in October. I had most of my meds in my check in (pretty bad when they take up a third of the suitcase in volume) and had just two days worth in a candy tin and my usual weekly strip in my carry on, just in case. There wasn't much difference in security other than they insisted that my notebook computer be taken out of my carry on and X-rayed separately, they also insisted on my wallet and keys being passed through the X-ray as well. The other interesting thing is that they check for photo id to see if it matches your boarding pass as you board the plane so plan on having it at hand at the gate. I'd imagine that they may want to X-ray shoes now. I've only had my shoes X-rayed at an airport once, years ago, in Saudi Arabia of all places. They probably check you cause of all the meds. Best to pack with the expectation that you'll have to open your carry on for inspection, maybe you can find one of those fishnet rolls where everything is packed in little fishnet pockets that are see through and then just rolled up. You may want to divide your meds between your carry on and check in so that if one goes missing, you still have the other. Plus write down your prescription numbers and the phone number of your pharmacy down on a slip of paper and keep that with you, that will be enough information to get another set of meds. If you just have a few days worth in those weekly pill boxes and the rest in your check in, it won't attract so much attention. The nebulizer will probably attract attention anyway so they'll probably want to have a look at that regardless. You can get travel insurance as well. As long as I use my Amex card to buy the plane ticket, I automatically get travel medical coverage so that if I do have to get emergency refills on my meds, I can claim the money that it costs back.
