Wow, what a history.

After reading Becker, MD's The Body Electric, I better understand - or is it more 'believe'? -- that the body CAN fill that in. With what this guy is doing, who are we to question? Sounds like he and his mom are making decisions for him and smart ones along the way.

The TENS is a great idea .... go farther into Frequency Specific MicroCurrent with its varying frequencies .... could speed the matrix building. Be fun to build a protocol for that one.

Great case, Ann. Thanks for sharing.

Hi All: I need advise. I had a 17 year old very tall and large boy in the office today who fractured his distal fibula during a tackle at the end of September. The initial films looked like a hairline nondisplaced fracture. He was referred to OHSU (not sure by whom). The orthopedist there said he needed plates and screws. The grandmother, his permanent guardian, did some research and decided casting would be appropriate. The ortho freaked out and called the state. She was nearly arrested for neglect. She felt it was about politics and money. Is this woman smart or what? His local doctor called saying he has another appointment at OHSU that she feels she has to attend or go to jail. He was wearing a splint which finally fell apart while they tried to find someone to cast it- no one would. The next films showed the opening of the fracture to be 1/2 the size it was. Then he slipped twice at school on crutches and hurt it. The most recent films (only ones I have seen) show a huge gap- 1cm. It is diagonal. He has some evidence of active growth plates. Here is the weird part- NO PAIN- for most of the last 2 months. He walks- can't run, however. When he walked for me, he was avoiding toeing off. The ankle is 3/4cm larger around on the fractured side. I couldn't make it hurt with any movements or pressure. He won't have surgery- I'm not sure with that gap if he should. I ordered a microcurrent tens for him. He had a big boot that I recommended he wear. He broke a squatting school record last week- no pain. But the boot gets in the way when he lifts weights, which he has been doing. By the way, he has been rehabing his leg by himself and rebuilt most of his calf. ROM is pretty good. For that I recommended taping. I gave them Puziss' phone number. I know he isn't doing surgeries, but might give them his opinion. I trust him. They are scared and not feeling much trust.

Sorry I don't have a copy of the film to look at- very spectacular looking break. How bad can it be with no pain? My last fracture was more painful than childbirth. Can such a gap heal by itself? Thank you in advance, Ann Goldeen
