Guest guest
Dr. Bingham: One of the (few) MDs I have had as a patient made a comment one day (after HIS adjustment) in general discussion of health care and team approach to serve the need of the patient, that 'You chiropractors are always trying to take over the case in conditions you know nothing about " .... My reply was " You MDs are always trying to do the same thing....treat patients with conditions in which you are not really very well trained " ..... It led to a few moments of introspection on both our parts. Of course, over the past few years he had come to realize his academic background in spinal issues was pretty minimal, and we had previously quite a few long discussion of spinal biomechanics, the effects of abnormal nerve function, etc... He was quite fascinated by my rendering of Dr. Fleischa's 5-fold theory of the vertebral subluxation complex. He even listened to and borrowed several times Dr. F's tape on the subject. A small step perhaps. I always included neuro/muscular exam prior to adjusting him over the years. Hope this helps.
