Guest guest
To Lily and others: As list-serv moderator, I see " no harm, no foul " . These issues are hot for sure...but, let's keep up the discussion as long as there is viable content in the posting, which there is. As a Oregon DC, I will say that I appreciate Dr. Setera. He had some great advice for me 7-8 years ago when he graciously allowed me to visit his office. Anyone who knows him and his history, knows that most other docs in his career/financial position would be retired in Hawaii with a grandkid on one lap and a Mai-Tai in the other. In other words, he does not need this " bull--- " . But he is SO damn passionate about this profession and the health of his patients and society and cares so much that he is still steamin' ahead after 30 years, kids. A for that I say " God Bless You Doctor Setera " . Same goes for the Vern-meister.. anyone on this list-serv for more than a few years would agree. So I will never give up on some sort of unity/unified voice as an absolute high-piority for us. To not do so, disenfranchises some of the absolute best and brightest of our profession. BTW, to call ODOC a " distraction " or an " abheration " is a severe misjudgment in my humble opinion. This whole exchange brings to mind a speech that I saw in 2001, right after 911. It was in las Vegas, Guy Reikeman was the speaker. He spoke about chiropractic unity and said something like this: Each doctor, group etc. has to establish three things: 1- Your needs (these are thing that you won't compromise on) 2- Your wants ( these are things that you might compromise on) 3- Your likes (these are thing you would easily compromise on) I think each of us, as doctors, has to do a better job of this...I see lots of docs in this profession who " Don't stand for something, so they will fall for anything " . I also believe that both ODOC and CAO lack clarity to some extent, and perhaps if each group could clarify its needs, want and likes, we might get somewhere. I repeat my suggestion that CAO and ODOC leaders should spend a weekend together going thru one of thoose challege courses/ropes course with a mediator/facilitator...I know just the place...it is called Tillikum, just outside of Newberg!!!! Anywho, gotta ggo to work. Lily wrote: " Docs, I'm concerned that the listserve guidelines are not being followed in the current conversation of ODOC - CAO. Dr. , I'd appreciate your stepping in to clear the waters. Regards, Lily Roselyn Tillamook "
