Guest guest
, YOu have a couple of options. 1. You can call the physician and ask him/her for chiropractic referral so he/she can retain primary attending status, OR...2. You can sign an 827 where you transfer attending status to you. This will allow you to see her for 12 visits/30 days, then you have to send back to the MD. If you do the transfer of attending status, you can order the xray yourself. THere are pros and cons to doing it either way, and I'd get the xray to validate /rule out the additional rib injury. You certainly have treatment to help heal the area. Guest guest
Hi All, After I swore not to take any more wc cases, low and behold one of my existing patients has been injured. Will someone please remind me of the rules? She has already seen an MD on an emergency basis since she fractured her wrist. Now she is having severe anterior rib pain and with a history of osteoporosis I want her to have films. Do I need to refer her go see the MD? I called his office to explain things and his reception told me that they do not do anything for fractured ribs. I agree however wouldn't a film be prudent? thanks for your time!!
