Guest guest
Hello all, I am Spilios from Ohio. Here’s my intro: (This is for Tim) I married my husband at 19 (what was I thinking?-Yes, I was one hot chick-could you blame my hubby?) anyway we had our first baby when I was 22 which is Myah, who has DS. She just turned 4 on Tuesday. She was born with ASD, VSD and PDA, which all resolved on their own with no surgery. She had duodenal atresia which required a repair at 1 day old. She came home from the hospital at 6 days old. She had an incisional hernia from that surgery. She has had 4 sets of ear tubes, T & A removed, bronchoscopy, and just last month her tear ducts opened. Well, with all of that said she is pretty healthy and fairs pretty well. She goes to MRDD school 4 days a week all day and on Wednesday (her day off school) goes to horse-back riding lessons. She recently conquered potty training and is moving along quite well with her speech. In September we had our second child, Shianne. She is beautiful (how could she not be?lol) and has a wonderful personality. We laugh because she is smaller than Myah was and has these little stumpy short legs like Myah was supposed to have, but did not get. Lol She went to the doc for a cough and fever on Monday and we are happy to announce that she made it onto the growth chart. Lol This is not surprising because my dad is part leprechaun and the whole fam damily is really small. I work at a medical billing company as a client representative which means that I meet with doctors and explain to them why they are not making the money they desire and how to make more. Lol Upon my return back to work on Monday (after my 4 month maternity leave) I am supposed to have a job change to director of client relations. We’ll see how that goes…lol My hubby works at a health insurance company and is in school for Microsoft Networking. We are in the process of buying land and building a house. We are trying to improve our current house as much as possible for a higher selling price. This meant that the day after Christmas we sanded and refinished our wood floors which cover the entire downstairs. To do this we left the kids at my moms on Christmas, went home, took the tree down along with all the decorations, and packed everything else into the kitchen. The first day my husband and a friend worked 16 hours and probably 12 the second day. Then the next day I spent 16 hours cleaning up the 4 inches of sawdust there was on everything including all the walls. The brilliant men didn’t block off the doorway into the kitchen which meant the stuff we moved into the kitchen for a safe-haven was covered w/dust. The other brilliant man-minded thing was to pile the saw dust right outside the door on the driveway. This was quite convenient for the visitors walking up the drive to Myah’s b-day party. Lol When I asked what they were thinking I got a blank stare-imagine that. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Remember to pray for those who were victims of the Tsunami.
