Can anyone confirm any of this?Ed E. Cremata, D.C.38069 Martha Ave., St. 200Fremont, CA 94536510 796 2225 Cremata@... An open letter from Luigi DiRubba..."From 2002 through 2004 ASH received in payments and other income a total of over $208,000,000.00. Of that net income, ASH paid Doctors of Chiropractic approximately $98,000,000.00 or approximately 47%. The remaining 53% your company kept for salaries, expenses and profit."http://www.amerchiro.org/pdf/ASH_Letter.pdfDear Colleagues,I would like to share with you a conversation that I had today.A patient of mine who holds a respectable position at BCBS after his adjustment asked if he could speak to me privately.I said sure pulled him to my office and asked if everything was OK or what I could do for him?He wanted to tell me about the statements being made by ASH to the BC people just within the past two weeks.I going to use bullet points for ease:a.. ASH is telling bcbs not to worry the panel has be reinstated since the new contract and most DC'S will be scared, forget or not know to opt out againb.. The CT chiropractors will cave in with their new fee schedule this holdout will not lastc.. They are all to scarred to opt out worrying if their colleague down the street will or will not because they are afraid of getting screwedd.. The DC'S don't realize that they still have a legitimate network (CIGNA) even if not enough sign up(for BCBS) so they will try again with a new contract. (IF THERE IS NO NETWORK THEY CAN'T COME BACK AGAIN)e.. They will be trying in the new year to convert some of the other BS products over AND EVENTUALLY NEGOTIATE FOR THE REST.f.. The doctors are afraid because they think they will have nothing and even being out of network they still have go through themThis individual has been a patient of mine for 10 years now and he was irate about their statements. Also his wife is a teacher and they bring their three children to me since the first was born 7 years ago with Downs. It was the Chiropractic the resolved the child's Reflux,Nystagmus, and ENT issues since birth. He is very upset because they go through the MOMS ins. and now all his children won't be able to be seen by ASH standards. He said that "we (the profession) should make them eat their words"a.. Keep having your patients sign those letters fax them to BCBS and cc attorney Hirtleb.. Think about what you need to do for your integrity and the profession in CT, it will have rippling effects throughout the country.c.. Call your colleague down the street (yes that is right!!!) and discuss what differences do you want to make in your community and does this allow you to do so?d.. I believe there has never been a better time to be a Chiropractor...I believe we can make a difference for our patients and profession. This issue is bigger than about us individually. So remember if you are opting out of the ASH panels, cc Attorney Hirtle at (fax) 860-278-2179You need to send 1 letter to ASH for the BCBS panel and a separate letter for the CIGNA panel deadline is OCTOBER 19,2006.I personally believe that we should not give them anything to work with, but that is just my opinion and of none and noone other."We never know how far reaching something we may think, say or do today will affect the lives of millions tomorrow""No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."PASS THIS ONDr. Luigi DiRubba391 Highland Ave.Cheshire, CT. 06410203-272-3239fax 203-272-2224cell 203-980-8222To unsubscribe,Click Here********************************************************************************"Building Chiropractic Community through enhanced communication."To change your preferences or unsubscribe:http://ww3.chirolists.com/mailman/listinfo/chirolist-caemail: Chirolist-CA-request@...?subject=unsubscribeList options tutorial:http://www.chirolists.com/index.cfm?nid=6Email filters tutorial:http://www.chirolists.com/index.cfm?nid=7********************************************************************************* Try the new Live Search today!

So, if I'm reading this right there is a mass resignation of Connecticut

providers from some PPO? Interesting.

So, one response would be for the profession on the left coast to show some

solidarity with our Connecticut brethren. Another response would be to continue

with the status quo and hope for a change of heart from this PPO, perhaps an

increase in our reimbursement, or easing the documentation requirements.

What other options are there?

Of course I'm not suggesting anything. Just weighing the potential options.

Today I got a glossy brochure from - of all people- ASHN inviting me to join their network with full benefits, blah, blah. I would never join them. The last time they tried I declined. They must think we are isolated without knowledge of the many class action lawsuits against them. No thanks, show me the cash. Ann Goldeen

[Chirolist-CA] An open letter from Luigi DiRubba...

Don,It has been almost a year now since I resigned from ASHN. I can't tell you how comfortable it is working today!!! I am still a provider with ODS after signing with them individually, and have just been accepted with Providence again though I had to go through the back door to do it, and I don't have to listen to the ignorant A** holes who are our colleagues at ASHN. My front desk is happier than clams that they don't have to deal with the payment section of ASHN all the time because of improper payment etc. I would suggest to anyone who is looking for an easier life to go ahead and make the jump from controlled access care. Yes, you will lose a couple of patients, but face it, you aren't getting paid for them anyway, and your schedule will open up for full paying patients. I wouldn't have believed there would have been so much less paperwork and an easier time in practice until I actually did it, even after reading letters from other docs that had done this same thing in the past. I just thought they were bragging and blowing hot air. If everyone cancelled this type of contract, where would the insurance industry go? Things would have to change or insurances would not be able to offer chiropractic care. And come on, think of it, we are being used as a marketing tool by these insurance companies because we are what industry is demanding. It is about time we drive our own train like the dental profession did when HMO's were being formed, they stuck together for the most part. Grice, DCAlbany, OR (suburb of the suburb of Sweet Home)
