Guest guest
This is my response to Dr. Saboe's request for W/C information. He asked me to post it to the group. Don WHite, RN, DC Hey, Over the past 16 years of practice, many patients have told me they were funneled to their MD's by their employers when they were injured. They didn't know they could see a chiropractor, and were specifically told they had to see an MD. In the past year, I can think of three patients, specifically, who were told they had to see the company doctor. Two of them were from Home Depot, two different stores. The patients had on the job injuries, and one was told they had to see a Concentra physician, and the other was told they had to go to an occupational health doctor at St. 's. Re: the St.V's case, I called the store and spoke to the Human REsources person, and they told me that was the company policy and they had "an arrangement" with the occupational health group. In the second, Home Depot case, the patient called the Work Comp. person you suggested, and a friendly call was placed to the store's human resources to clarify the law. The third person, works at the Cost Plus store in Clackamas Town Center She was specifically told she had to go to an MD. SHe may be willing to write a statement and/or testify. I'll ask her tomorrow. The other two patients are long gone. Don White, RN, DC
