Guest guest
That's right Colleen!! You can do this!!! Guest guest
Sorry you're not feeling well Colleen ... just don't let it turn into a freefall day. lol Rita A rough morning RATS RATS RATS!! I have IBS that thankfully only flares up occasionally (too much stress, lack of sleep, eating really bad <G>) and between the stress at work yesterday (which I always make worse than it is!) and my insomnia the night before, my poor little stomach is on fire!!! I'm hoping if I can get through the next few hours without eating anything, it will calm down and I can still achieve a good eating day!!! When it acts up, the only thing that stays down are processed carbs like bread, crackers, pretzels!!! And I really really really don't want to go down that path!!! I also skipped my cardio this morning and will pick it up tonight. Hope everyone else is having a better start today!! I do know that no matter what, even if the day turns out bad, it's just 1 day and I'll get right back on track tomorrow...it's just disappointing! Guest guest
Colleen- I am not sure what IBS is (Irritable Bowel Syndrome?), but do what you have to do! As we often hear this is Body for Life! Doing cardio in the morning vs the evening is no big deal, just a little more planning on the food side of things. I always do cardio in the evening on Tues and Thurs. I eat my last thing at about 3:45 and workout at 6:30 or so. Then I wait as close to an hour as I can before eating again. Sometimes I make it, sometimes not. We don't have to be done with this in 12 weeks! If we keep at it and continue down the BFL path, we will get the results we want in a matter of time. As for eating, if all your tummy can handle is processed carbs, then try a little to settle your tummy and then eat BFL when you can. Kathleen > RATS RATS RATS!! I feel your pain, Colleen :/ While my IBS has gotten a LOT better on BFL, I still have flare ups like this. It's just so frustrating!! Guest guest
Sorry to hear about your IBS, tough row to hoe. I have a hiatal hernia and swallowing problems so eating all the food so often is tricky. I have found protein shakes are the easiest to bear, go down easy and stay there quietly. Do smaller meals more often help with IBS? Hang in there, you can do it. Yeta > RATS RATS RATS!! Guest guest
Colleen: I have that too, although it's never really been 'diagnosed' per se, but they tested me for everything else, I just used deductive reasoning! But I noticed it went away once I started eating better, and for some reason, when I was preggo. I also have terrible insomnia occasionally, and last night was a bad one. To top it off, my 2 year old decided 5 would be a perfect time to wake up for the day (I went to sleep around 1:30!) so I'm beat. If I had to go to a job, I'd be wasted. (not drunk of course! That would be very bad!) I'm glad you're still motivated to do your cardio though! That's so great, you didn't even skip a beat about it. I kept making excuses in my head today about why it'd be okay for me to skip my cardio, " I'm so tired, I don't have to do it, oh, woe and moan and...etc. " But I did do it (not first thing in the morning, but I did it!) and even though it was not the BEST workout ever, I did it! So good for you for still having that mindset that you're gonna do it!!!! This means you've certainly dealt with adversity well! Good luck! The Perfect Week challenge and the post that someone forwarded yesterday from Pam Brown about how she did it. It really made me think about my decisions and what I really want to get out of this. Now hopefully, that'll stick with me Good job on doing your cardio. It's tough when you are tired. I'd much rather lift weights than do cardio when I'm beat, but I'll get through a workout.
