What are these cable things you are referring to and where did you get them?

Re: First LB workout - WOW

Hah!! Colleen, BABY, wait until tomorrow and THEN

Thursday...wowzers!!!

Two days after my first LBWO, I couldn't sit down to pee. I either

had to squat high above the bowl. If I tried to sit, I would get to

a certain point and just FALL. Too funny. Love the burn baby!

As far as the dumb-bells question, I LOVE them. I do use a tall

cable thingy when I do my lats and tris, but other than that, I'm a

dumb-bell girl. (No comments from the peanut gallery on that one!!)

The reason I use the cable things are because I don't like doint my

right side THEN my left side. If anyone has any lifting suggestions

for dumb-bell exercises where I can do both back muscles and tri

muscles at once, I'd love to hear 'em!

Thanks,

Astra

Oh Colleen and Notyet - I responded to Colleen in another post but forgot about

the variety question. I think there is plenty of variety available. I

basically have 3 exercises for each body part available (let's say A, B, and C).

So for the first 4 weeks I do A for the 12, 10, 8, 6, 12 and B for the high

point set. For the next 4 weeks I switch them (B for 12, 10 etc. and A for high

point set). Then for the last 4 weeks I do B and C together, etc. and keep

rotating them. I got this method from one of my heroes - Joann (aka Mrs.

Bishwit).

Re: First LB workout - WOW

Hey Colleen, I just started on Sunday and today was my first LBO too.

I have both dumb bells and a decent home gym but I tried the dumb

bell exercises from the book because they looked easier. Boy was I

wrong, started using my 15lb set and never got any higher, I thought

I would have to buy higher weights next week but I think it might be

a awhile. I did notice the exercises with the dumbbells seem to work

more isolated muscle groups than my gym where I can cheat a little. I

was wondering the same thing about variety, when I do my next UBWO

should I stick with the same five exercises or does it help to mix it

up?

Rita and Astra - not sure if the goal is to work back and triceps at the same

time or to work both arms at once thereby saving time. Anyway, if the latter,

you can do lying dumbell rows for the back which use both arms at the same time,

and french presses for triceps which also work both arms at the same time. Just

a few ideas!

LOL Park~ :0)

When I do the BFL workouts [i do them at home with a bench with a leg

extension and adjustable weights] rotating the few exercises that I am able

to due [because of my equiptment] per body part really helps shock the

muscles also if you plan out in the begining which 3-4 exercises you plan to

rotate per body part then during the 12 weeks you don't spend hardly any

time planing your workouts other than the amount of weights you need to use.

Rita - don't think they are, but you can find them on that exrx site (you know

which one I mean?) or maybe I found the french press one somewhere else. Do a

search in google on dumbell and exercises and you'll find tons.
