Guest guest
Mrs. Buerschaper's Molasses Crinkles 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1/4 cup blackstrap molasses 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1/4 tsp salt 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp allspice 1 tsp ground ginger 2 cups unbleached white flour 1-2 tablespoons additional sugar Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease cookie sheets. Melt the butter over low heat. Beat in molasses, 1 cup sugar, and egg. Sift together the dry ingredients (except the additional sugar). Mix the two mixtures together. (Me, I just dump all the dry into the wet and stir it up, and it seems to work!) Form 1.5-inch balls of dough. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until firm to the touch. Cool on a rack. Yields about 36 cookies. ~~ You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world's happiness now. How? By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or discouraged. --- Dale Carnegie
