Guest guest
Bob, I'd be willing to pay my share to learn how to make a silicone mold. Sounds like this stuff is very pricey from what you say. Jeanine
Guest guest
Jeanine: Well, I know it sounds like a lot for a small bucket, but you could make a lot of molds out of that amount. Had I bought it in a five gallon size it would have been the equivalent of buying 3 and getting 2 free. And in the 55 gal drum, I'm sure the cost of scale would have been much better. I didn't just go out and drop $100 so we could play. There is a method to my madness here! I am considering making " gang molds " which are essentially rows of like objects in a 2 piece mold. Pour, let 'em harden, split and lift out the piece. Naturally if I get involved I'll sell kits too. The local vendor I spoke with is planning on sicking a professional moldmaker on the national guild for next spring's conference, seeing it's supposed to be in the northeast. We'll see what happens! Guest guest
Bob- Of course I want to play! I have no idea what I'd want a mold made out of though. Gotta put on the thinking cap! Any idea how much you'll charge us? Thanks for doing this demo! Guest guest
Beth: Good to hear! I was wondering about that long thin fin. Someone else mentioned a high heel, but I think it was a bit more op-art than I was thinking. Otherwise the spike heel would never come out. I'm peeling my mold out of the container today. How is everyone else doing? Bob > > Bob, > > I made a m & p fish soap with my mold last night. It came out pretty nicely, > except that one piece came off in the unmolding.
