Guest guest
We are having a Yankee Swap again this year. Below are the rules. If you haven't participated before you really should try it this year. It's a lot of fun! Yankee Swap Rules: Participants bring an item in a plain brown box or a used (used or we could get in trouble with the PO) priority box turned inside out so that no one can identify one person's item from another's. Only the outside of the box should be unidentifiable. The reason for this is that if I knew what you were bringing and wanted it I could pick that box and hope no one decided to take it from me. Packages are placed on a table. Everyone picks a number out of a bag, # 1 picks a box, opens it up, shows everyone. #2 picks a box, opens, shows everyone and has a choice to swap with/ #1. Every person has a choice to swap with/ anyone who has gone before them. Because #1 had no one to swap with in the beginning, he/she has the choice to swap with anyone at the end. The best # to pick is #1 because you have your choice of all the items even if they have been swapped 10 times before you. Things get passed around quite a bit and even if you have grown attached to what you picked you have no idea what you'll end up with. I'm keeping the package value at $10 as we have done in the past. You can include supplies such as mango butter, FOs, containers, beeswax, molds, herbs, colorants, etc. You can also bring something that you make such as candles, washcloths, soap bags, etc. You can include any labels, identification etc. on anything inside the box. After the box is chosen and opened it doesn't matter if we know who put it in the swap. H.
