Guest guest
Amy; Hi; I think Serenity is right about the Designer Whey proteins having aspartame in them [aspartame leaves a bitter taste when they are heated but I have been told that the taste is suppose to return to normal when the item has cooled to room temp]. I use a Protein powder from " Hi Health " called " Xrated " complete whey protein powder [it comes with or without aspartame; I use the ones without aspartame] it comes in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. And I really like the taste of them; I have been using the same brand for the whole time since I started my journey a year ago. Guest guest
Nope. Designer Whey is aspartame free. " Ingredients: APT Full Spectrum Whey Peptides [modified molecular weight and partially pre-digested (hydrolyzed) Whey Protein Concentrate (inc. ~14% glycomacropeptides [MW ~6,700D]), 100% non- denatured Whey Protein Isolate (98% pure protein dry basis), Whey Glutamine Peptides (incl. natural glutamine peptides), L-taurine, L- leucine, L-phenylalanine], cocoa, Glutasynth (D-glucose, L-glutamine, oligofructose, glutamine peptides), natural and artificial chocolate flavoring, Lecithin, ZinMag-6 (magnesium oxide, magnesium aspartate, zinc aspartate, pyridoxine, zinc monomethionine), cellulose gum, xanthan gum, sodium alginate, sodium chloride, acesulfame-K, sucralose, dried cream extract, vanillin, natural vitamin E, lactoperoxidase. " http://www10.netrition.com/designer_page.html The only flavor of Designer I cant stomach is the French Vanilla. It taste like bile. > Amy; > Hi; > I think Serenity is right about the Designer Whey proteins having > aspartame in them [aspartame leaves a bitter taste when they are > heated but I have been told that the taste is suppose to return to > normal when the item has cooled to room temp]. > > I use a Protein powder from " Hi Health " called " Xrated " complete whey > protein powder [it comes with or without aspartame; I use the ones > without aspartame] it comes in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. > And I really like the taste of them; I have been using the same brand > for the whole time since I started my journey a year ago. > > Joann
Guest guest
I was afraid of that which is why I didn't buy it. I HATE French Vanilla - and the only one they had is Vanilla Praline. So I just buy different brands that are plain Vanilla. (AND chocolate, too, of course! lol) Rita Re: What kind of protein powder do you use to bake?- Mrs. Bischwit??? Nope. Guest guest
Is it SWEETENED, though? I see things like zinc aspartate, sucralose and lactoperoxidase and I think 'sweet'...is it? Guest guest
It is sweetened with " acesulfame-K and sucralose " But it doesnt have a really sweet taste to it. Lactoperoxidase can be read about here:http://www.fao.org/ag/aga/agap/lps/dairy/MPV/lactoperoxidase/faqa nswer.htm#first zinc aspartate is just a form of the mineral Zinc. > > > Amy; > > > Hi; > > > I think Serenity is right about the Designer Whey proteins having > > > aspartame in them [aspartame leaves a bitter taste when they are > > > heated but I have been told that the taste is suppose to return > to > > > normal when the item has cooled to room temp]. > > > > > > I use a Protein powder from " Hi Health " called " Xrated " complete > > whey > > > protein powder [it comes with or without aspartame; I use the > ones > > > without aspartame] it comes in vanilla, chocolate, and > strawberry. > > > And I really like the taste of them; I have been using the same > > brand > > > for the whole time since I started my journey a year ago. > > > > > > Joann
