Guest guest
, Yes, I did watch part 2 of Dr. Phil on Oprah on Tuesday, and I loved his pilot analogy. I also liked it when he talked about us being our own managers. He said (I paraphrase), " Would you hire a manager who always put you down, who thought you couldn't succeed, who thought you weren't good enough? No, you'd fire that manager. Well, you are your the manager of your life, and you have only one client, yourself. You have to love and believe in that client. " I need to remind myself of that daily! Thanks for the great thought. Dani > <<I realize that I've taken self-criticism to a whole new level.>> > > Dani, you did watch part 2 of Dr. Phil this week, right? Guest guest
Absolutely, Rita, do more cardio for now and keep eating clean. I've eaten clean all this week, too. And let me know how you like the movie; it really is an amazing film. Guest guest
That routine sounds great to me. I think as long as you keep eating clean, you'll see progress. Try and do some intervals during your cardio even if you can't hit your 10s. I haven't been able to either, since my ankle is still healing, but I'm doing okay with my weights and using the recumbent bike for my cardio. My ankle is not nearly as sore as it was three days ago. Yay. Dani > > > > <<I realize that I've taken self-criticism to a whole new > > level.>> > > > > > > > > Dani, you did watch part 2 of Dr. Phil this week, right? Guest guest
I didn't see the show but I have a comment on the getting rid of clothes things. For me it took getting rid of my skinny clothes. For some reason knowing I have size 5 and 7 jeans in my closet makes me gain more weight...the stress maybe? I still can't get into those 7s but give me till the end of my 12 weeks and DF better take away my debit card because I am going shopping! > > <<I realize that I've taken self-criticism to a whole new level.>> > > > > Dani, you did watch part 2 of Dr. Phil this week, right? Guest guest
Wow, I'm just the opposite with my skinny clothes. Knowing that I have 1000s of dollars worth of size 4s and 6s in my closet keeps me motivated to lose the weight. I love those clothes and want to fit into them again before they go out of style. I did have one pair of tiny jeans that only fit for a few weeks when I lost too much weight doing excessive cardio. Once I built up muscle with BFL they never fit again, and I did find myself obsessing about that so I finally threw them out. > > > <<I realize that I've taken self-criticism to a whole new > level.>> > > > > > > Dani, you did watch part 2 of Dr. Phil this week, right? Guest guest
I think they're a long ways from going out of style. I gained some weight back just a few months ago. Plus, they really are too new and expensive to throw out. I don't have the money to replace an entire wardrobe when I lose the weight again. I'm on my way to fitting into them. I think another three months should do it. > > > > <<I realize that I've taken self-criticism to a whole new > > level.>> > > > > > > > > Dani, you did watch part 2 of Dr. Phil this week, right? Guest guest
Me too on the clothes. Don't throw them away. Last week I posted to somebody about thinking I'd never lose the gained pregnancy weight four months out(it took 9 to get back to baseline--duh!)and gave away tons of linen slacks, wool skirts, lots of business clothes etc. that would fit perfectly now. My wardrobe has never recovered. Stasia
Guest guest
Park you are my new hero! Wow! I can't wait to see your pics! Stay off that ankle. Sprains MUST be rested to get better. I know it is frustrating, but if you don't want to be bothered by the darn thing for the rest of your life treat it kindley (I know this from personal expereince! I badly sprained my ankel my first year in college, that would be 1979, and it still gives me fits on occassion because I didn't stay off of it like I should have.) Did you go to the doctor? Do what you were told, and you will be happier in the end. Alys
