Guest guest
Welcome to the February Issue of ADDHelpline Newsletter. To view the online version of this newsletter, visit www.addhelpline.org/newsletter1.htm In the past few months, I have received numerous requests for information on ADD (without hyperactivity) and so I began my search for information. What I found is that the parents that wrote to me are right, there is very little information available on this topic. Most of the information is inclusive of both ADD and ADHD, although parents of children with ADD would agree, I am sure, that there are major differences and that ADD has it's own unique set of problems and concerns that are not always addressed in articles and information concerning ADHD. I have tried to compile some information and apologize that it is not enough!!! There is a questionnaire for girls with ADD. Check out our " Parent's Talk " to hear what other parents are saying about ADD. For any parents out there with children with ADD, if you know of web sites that address this issue, please send me an email with the URL. I will post them on the Parent's Talk page for ADD throughout the month. We have added our directory to our site and hope that many of you find providers within the pages. We will continue to add names as we receive them. Click here to visit our new directory www.addhelpline.org/directory.htm Next month we will be talking about ADD/ADHD and depression. Please feel free to submit information you feel would help other parents. Have a great month!!!!!!!!!!! Eileen eileen@... This Month’s Motivation Tip: Create an " ACCOMPLISHMENTS BOOK " Using a skill or talent of your child, create a book of their accomplishments. For my son's 16th birthday, I went through his art tablets and copied his sketch's. Using the copy machine enlarger, I created pages for the book and went to a local store and had the book bound. It had a cover with his name on it and inside there was many examples of his talent in art. Have a copy sent to you so you can also be reminded of school work, meetings with teachers, etc. Have it become a learning project with the computer and work together to set up the calendar options, email settings etc. For more organization tips http://www.addhelpline.org/organization_tips.htm This Month's Featured Articles: CHECKLIST TO IDENTIFY GIRLS WITH ADD http://www.addhelpline.org/add_checklist.htm ADD WITHOUT HYPERACTIVITY http://www.addhelpline.org/add_request.htm SEVEN STEPS TO EFFECTIVE PARENT ADVOCACY http://www.addhelpline.org/7_step_to_advocacy.htm NAET-ALLERGY ELIMINATION TREATMENT http://www.addhelpline.org/naet.htm THIS MONTH'S SUCCESS STORY FAMOUS PEOPLE http://www.addhelpline.org/famous_people.htm Regular Features ASK THE COACH Our coach answers a question about hair pulling in a young child http://www.addhelpline.org/atcfeb2001.htm Parent’s Talk Parents write in with their experiences with ADD http://www.addhelpline.org/add.htm ADHD in the News Headlines in the News about ADHD http://www.addhelpline.org/adhd_in_the_news.htm Featured Site This Month A to Z Kids Stuff http://www.addhelpline.org/featured_site.htm Book Review Books for Parents on managing ADHD http://www.addhelpline.org/jumpin_johnny.htm Your Opinion Please High Maintenance Kids http://www.addhelpline.org/high_maintenance_kids.htm Internet Guides Additional sites with information on ADD http://www.addhelpline.org/internetguide.htm eileen addhelpline@... http://www.addhelpline.org " Together we can make a difference in the lives of our children.
