Vaccines do not affect MS

February 2, 2001

There has been concern that vaccinations for tetanus, hepatitis, or flu

could lead to the onset of multiple sclerosis (MS) or cause a relapse of the

disease. However, this study of 643 patients who had suffered such relapses

found that only 2.3% had been vaccinated during the preceding two months,

which is no different from the proportion vaccinated during a control

period.
