Oh...well....didn't think about that. *blushes* I wouldn't want to hurt anyone else. If I had felt really dizzy, I would have called a cab...but I will never ever call an ambulance. Plus, the hospital here is so close, by the time the ambulance was here, I'd have already been seen by a doctor. The pharmacist told me that people walk around with blood sugars of 800 and not know it. I don't see how! I was scrubbing the kitchen floor, that is why I thought I was sweaty and my legs were a little wobbly. When I saw how badly I was shaking, it is just a normal reaction for me to think...I've gotta eat. Since my blood sugars are not under control very well. In the mornings, my sugars are very low, and if I don't eat for a while. Makes me mad too sometimes, because I'm not even hungry, but I'm forced to eat. I guess being on the prednisone will cure that though. Going into today, I am a little scared. I took the prednisone and the Glucophage....and I'm already shaking. I'm not sure if it is from nervousness or not. The one thing that confuses me, is that the Prednisone makes me feel better. I have more energy to clean the house, and I just feel less achy. When I was talking to the ER doc about the whole insulin resistant thing versus the actual diabetes, he told me there is no doubt that I am not insulin resistant. I am diabetic. I sorta knew that though, the way this has been a life changing factor recently. They are making me keep on this bracelet that says "diabetic" and they won't let me take it off. I had such a hard time sleeping last night, I think I finally fell asleep around 6 am. I think I was mostly scared that I would go into a coma...people kept reminding me of that last night at the ER. Plus, I kept peeing all night long. They made me drink so much water! I went out and bought a new glucose meter last night, since my poor fingers are black and blue from all the testing yesterday. I bought one that you test your arm or thigh, and it doesn't hurt AT ALL!!! You use very little blood and it stores date and time and even averages out your weekly blood glucose level. I think it is called Free Style, made by TheraSense (www.TheraSense.com) if you want to see it. When it says pain free, it really is pain free. I don't feel anything at all! Anyway...I'm not making this into an advertisement, just putting the info out there. I will be monitoring my sugars about every half-hour today, because I don't want that yo-yo thing to happen again. I'll keep you all posted.

Hugs,

Hello family. I am so @# & **$%! upset right now. You know how my paindoctor put me on high dose prednisone for inflammation? Well, now the REALfun begins. You also know how I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes?Well, I tested my blood sugar tonight because I was getting shaky andsweaty, and at first it was 569. Now, the tester won't even register itbecause it is so high. Oh joy. Now, the on call dr is putting me onglucophage, and I am supposed to go the ER if I get mentally confused ordizzy. I swear, if this stuff doesn't stop.....ARGH!!!! Whatnext!?!?!?!?!?Shaky and sweaty hugs,PS....what If I'm always mentally confused?? (sorry...had to throw that inthere!)

I may never see tomorrow; there's no written guarantee, And things that happened yesterday belong to history!!! {{{Sent With Many Hugs}}} Helen
