Guest guest
Here's the next chapter in the Sodium Lactate story. Unmolded the soaps last night at 11 p.m. ~ they were in the molds for about 9 hours. They almost fell out of the MW molds. It took only a gentle push to get them out of 12 " and 15 " by 3 " PVC pipe molds. The soaps were very firm and without any ash. After school this afternoon I cut the logs. They cut easily, the soap was not crumbly, there was no ash. I trimmed the bars and they look great! One thing, though. I'm used to making soapballs from leftovers when molding. The leftovers got crumbly and hard before they could be shaped. I'll have to come up with another method. Tomorrow I'll try rebatching (yuck!) the scraps.
