I use phenonip as well. I was using Germaben II, but that releases

formaldehyde when it reached over 100 degrees - icky! So I switched.

There isn't a truly natural preservative that I would trust or use.

GSE is an endocrine-disruptor and that new " natural " preservative

that To Die For sells has some issues as well. Bill Wallace from

Snowdrift Farms has written about both of them on the 1natural

list, and I trust his judgement and knowledge.

I know that you can use potassium sorbate as a preservative, but I

have heard that it's very fickle and tricky to work with.

Of course, now I'm using a polymer emulisifier after about 300 oz of

botched lotion batches, so there's no way I can call my

lotion " natural " anyway, lol!
