Guest guest
If you email me, our Dr. of Nutrition realyed to me that our company(Golden Pride,Inc.) knows more about Rotal Jelly and propolis then any DSA in America and owns Regina Royal Jelly(the premiere provider in the world). We have capsules and tablets of the propolis and a spray...when our children are coming down with something, we give their immune system a boost by opening up a capsule and letting them ear it raw...has carob flavoring so they almost beg for it! Or we sprinkle it on food. The pollen is in a pill form. A great many of our products have the jelly in them. You can click on the link to our website and maybe you can find some info there. I didn't want this to sound like an ad, but this is something we use and this is the product I know about. I could email you with more info if you'd like but it should probably be done off this board...at the very least, it can't hurt(there are exceptions, I'm sure)! I am not a medical doctor, nor do I portray one on t.v.!(But my husband,Mike,is!!!) I have been reading about it, and it touts itself to be an immunity builder and many more things. It sounds great. I wonder if it would benefit our kids any? I know, it sounds a little groovy. But, there are a ton of websites and articles about it. Check it out.
Guest guest
just remember that Dr. G says it's much more important to take things out of the kids then putting extra things in them. Things like Echinacea, for example, are counterindicated for our children because they FIRE up the immune system which in the case of an autoimmune illness is the wrong approach and can exacerbate problems. (it even says on some labels, " not for use in autoimmune illness " ) But I certainly understand that you are interested in helping your child! Don't get me wrong, I am trying EVERYTHING I can to " cure " him or at least make him independent. I am pumping him full of supplements and etc. It occured to me that he'll out live us all and have no one to make sure he's taken care of in his adulthood or old age!! We parents need to be taking the supplements and vitamins so we can be here for them. Only God has the knowledge of whether we'll be here in 20-50yrs. But, we can at least do the best we can. OK, I know I am sounding morbid. I guess I'm having one of those days, HATE AUTISM, FEEL FAT, BAD HAIR, HOUSE A MESS, SCHOOL DISTRICT BEING DIFFICULT, HUSBAND NOT UNDERSTANDING, ........ Forgive me for ranting. But, I am serious about the bee pollen. Does anyone know much about it?? > > Trina > > > > >

Guest guest
I am new to this list and hope that I am not too shockingly uninformed. However, it seems that if you are not meant to " fire up " the immune system for a child with autoimmune illness than you couldnt' give them food which was nutritious as nutrients boost the immune system. Obviously, not feeding a child nutritious food is not sensible, but can anybody give me some remedial information on this idea that one must not " fire up " the immune system? I've noticed that Vitamin C and, indeed, echinacea seems to help my child get over colds, but if echinacea is definitely dangerous I will stop! Can't see stopping giving a child vitamin C, but I am interested in hearing others views. Guest guest
Trina, I know nothing of bee pollen, but I have a question for you. Is your son on antivirals following Dr. Goldberg's protocol? Have you run all of recommended tests? I saw Dr. Goldberg this weekend and was so impressed with what he had to say. Thanks,
Guest guest
Of course good nutrition, mostly in the form of protein/vegetables is very important for optimum health for our children. But the fact that they are " allergic " (or " sensitive " ) to many foods indicates that many usually benign things things can set off their systems. Mega vitamins/Echinacea and other supplements can fire up the immune system and therefore aggravate an autoimmune condition. Also, classically allergic foods such as nuts, berries, dairy and whole wheat should be avoided because of this effect. Did you know for example for some patients with rheumatoid arthritis, another autoimmune condition, are helped by removing dairy from their diets and can dramatically reduce their need for pain medication? The system just has more trouble dealing with certain subtances than others and especially in a compromised immune sytem. ---- Original Message ----- From: " Alastair Rolfe " <Alastair_Rolfe@...> < > Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2001 3:52 PM Subject: Re: OFF TOPIC: bee pollen/royal jelly > I am new to this list and hope that I am not too shockingly uninformed. > However, it seems that if you are not meant to " fire up " the immune system > for a child with autoimmune illness than you couldnt' give them food which > was nutritious as nutrients boost the immune system. Guest guest
Yes, my own experience has taught me that gluten, casein, foods high in salicylates, some additional " allergenic type " foods such as corn and soy effect my son, and we don't use these. I have never gone into the megavitamins either. However, I have found some nuts and seeds vital to Nicky's health (for one thing, they keep weight on him, also prevent the necessity for laxatives). There are some foods which serve as nice antivirals, of course, but some disagree with my child (garlic for example). I wish he would eat a vegetable or fruit, but he will only have fruit juice once in awhile and so if I give him some it is fresh squeezed (sigh). I look forward to learning more on this list.
