I don't have a referral for you, but good job with the patient and be sure to see Hathaway's post as well, as i'm sure you will get a kick out of it.

Need pediatric neurologist

Listserv,

I need the name of a pediatric neurologist or a neurologist that is ok with eval of that population. I have a 9 month old patient who was in his mother's arms in a cross walk when a vehicle (SUV) struck the mother. (the suv took out 3 pedestrians at once!) She flew across the pavement and the baby flew out of her arms bouncing on the asphalt. He was unconscious for a time. He sustained a skull fracture, concussion and bruising. This was 4 months ago. His fracture healed. He cries all the time, has a BM each 3rd day or so and is very fussy. His left eyelid droops badly. He can't seem to open the eye all the way. He never used to be like this according to the parents. The MDs at OHSU told her to just wait it out and he'll be ok. My first exam was the week after the accident. I sent him to OHSU. He had eval and treatment there. The mom brought him back in last week. I had all the reports of the fracture healed etc. But all the colic, eye droop was still present. I adjusted only C1 on the short leg side, and did an abdominal massage with heat. I told the mom how to massage her baby's stomach daily. He came in today, a week later, has 3 BMs per day, has slept ALL thru the night except for one night. He woke up once crying. He is calm and relaxed on exam today. The parents are pleased. Interestingly, the eyelid droop is 50% better! However, I still would like to have neuro eval before releasing this little one for case closure.

Any referrals would be appreciated.

Thanks,Minga Guerrero DC
