Guest guest
According to my copy of the 2005 CPT code, 97124 is a time based Therapeutic Procedure performed in 15 minute increments/units. My preliminary copy of ChiroCode, which identifies changes to ICD9 and CPT, shows no change to the definition of 97124. This is not to say that Pacific Source has not developed a policy (or limited benefit) of only allowing one unit of 97124. However, if they are reporting it is based on a change in CPT's definition of massage, they are incorrect. Tom Freedland
Guest guest
Docs, I was just on the phone with Pacific Source and was told that the new CPT code book did not allow time increments for 97124. Does anyone know of this rule change? Pacific Source is trying to say that all billings for 97124 are for one unit only.
