Guest guest
Dr. Grice, others, The OBCE adopted the rule below largely in response to the concerns as expressed. However, it is a complicated situation as presented by a previous poster. This rule at least clarifies from the Board's perspective that allied health professionals employed by chiropractic physicians are an integral part of many chiropractic practices. Also, we would always state that services provided by a CCA are within the chiropractic scope of practice. In addition the Board adopted four other administrative rule changes, delayed adoption of another, and proposed amending the clinical justification rule subject to further public comment and hearing. We're still processing the last board meeting and will have this information up on our Web page as soon as possible. Dave McTeague, Ex. Dir., OBCE --------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ ------------- Adopted January 19, 2006 New administrative rule 811-010-0130, Other Licensed Health Care Providers. (1) A chiropractic business entity or chiropractic physician, in accordance with decades long accepted scope of practice, may employ or contract for the services of other health care providers as part of their chiropractic practice for the purpose of providing care to patients, to the extent this does not conflict with other applicable state or federal laws. Other health care providers may include, but are not limited to, licensed massage therapists, physical therapists, athletic trainers, nurses, acupuncturists, naturopathic physicians, and physicians licensed under ORS 677. Stat. Auth.: ORS 684.155 (1)(, >>> " rongrice01 " <rongrice@...> 01/25/06 11:27AM >>> I agree with Dan. If the OBCE has been taking our money and certifying that CA's are able to do therapies under our licenses, then they should rightly argue with BC/BS that we are within our scope, and stop this harassment. What a great thing this would be to have a board that actually fights for us and protects us!! I know the board is on this list, so a word from them would be helpful at this time.
