Loree,

It WILL happen. Kali was just a few months shy of her 8th birthday before

she was pottied.

Up until that point, I found myself thanking God that she was small & better

likely to be able to fit into diapers at an older age. I had figured that if

it hadn't by that point, it may never happen. I was just about resigned to

the possibility of a lifetime of diapers.

I reasoned that since she was SO severely delayed in so many areas due to

the DS & a host of many medical issues, that this was to be expected. At the

time, I didn't know of anyone else whose child was so old & still in diapers

full time.

Kali is now a few months shy of her 18th birthday, she's not only potty

trained.....she takes care of her own personal 'lady' needs; all by herself.

Keep the faith & chin up.

sitting on my lap and sniffing(his sign for I need a change) I said did you

do poopie? I looked and there was no poop. So I said do you want to go to

the big boy potty? He got off my lap walked to the bathroom and started to

take off his diaper. I put him on and he did it!!Although today he didn't

tell me.

Just thought that I would share. lisa

thank you for this

Before we ever adopted our Micah it was something I was a little concerned

with also. In my case, God said " Don't worry it's a boy that's got the

Bowcock stamp on him. " In fact I will share a funny story. I always told my

adopted children that they were always meant to be Bowcock's, God used another

mom

to bring them to us but that therre right across there forehead's he stamped

Bowcock, when he created them. When we got our Caleb, now 10, our oldest

son was 9. When the social worker brought him in to us Cameron looked him over

and said " Mom, I see a B on his head, I see a B on his head!! " The social

worker said " Bee, Bee, where is there a Bee? " In a slightly distressed

voice.. We then had to tell her the whole story which she loved, and she told

our

son she could see the B also. " It is a story that my adopted children loving

telling, even the big one. He still believes lol!!!
