Guest guest
Greg Stanley poses an interesting scenario: Dr A and Dr. B live in the same town with the same startup date, demographics, managed care membership, etc. Both work hard and want to see 150 patient visits per week with a CA helping to give excellent care to all. After 2 years: Dr. A sees 150 pt. visits per week, Dr. B sees 35 pt. visits per week, The biggest question in practice management and in distribution of wealth is: " If you switched the docs from one clinic to the other, would their numbers follow? " If you know anything about practice management, the answer is, " Yes " . If you agree, then you must conclude that success is primarily an inside job. If so, it cannot be legislated. If so, you might also conclude that equal rights does not mean equal results. With the same exact conditions, some will succeed and some will fail. If you give everyone on earth the same amount of money, will the poor return to poverty and the wealthy increase their holdings? Of course, unless you establish a socialist setting where it becomes illegal to increase your wealth or to lose your meager holdings. Of course they tried that for 5 decades and whaddayaknow the rulers still found a way to have, no-waiting-in-line food, heated cars, and dauchas in the birch woods outside of Moscow. Theory: kaput. Maybe we should give it another chance. You start... ( E. Abrahamson, D.C.)
