Guest guest
I use this id for my UpsnDowns and Parents of children with Diabetes lists and bounce between the two topics. I read posts about MR as I read about how kids handle managing diabetes. Liam has the ability to sense when his blood sugar is low. When he brings me the testing kit asking to be tested his BS is under 80 the lower end of the range. Lots and lots of typical kids can't. Many people don't believe me when I tell them this. He's also determined to test his own blood sugars, which I'm told is typical for a seven year old, but perhaps atypical for a child who was only diagnosed six months ago. I've emailed privately, about this, but I read about many 'typical' kids 's age or older who can't manage an insulin pump. can. We had a diabetes team meeting yesterday and the nutrionist told me that she listens to many parents and kids argue about diets. Again, Liam and are handling dietary issues well (and 's is even trickier with Celiac). I'm not putting down 'typical' kids. I may have even been one once, but I just want to brag about two kids I know with DS that are handling a difficult subject better than some of their 'typical' peers.
